Obstetric Anaesthesia Fellowship (6-12 months)
Over 50% of clinical time is dedicated to obstetric anaesthesia, including acute obstetrics, elective Caesarean section lists, and anaesthetic obstetric clinics. The fellow will assist with the delivery of our multidisciplinary obstetric emergency simulation course and coordinate obstetric anaesthesia teaching sessions for junior trainees.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the fellowship, the fellow will be able to:
- Demonstrate further proficiency in obstetric anaesthesia
- Evaluate an obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia service for a department
- Teach principles of crisis management in obstetric anaesthesia
- Apply the use of neuraxial ultrasound
Responsibilities
- Provide formal labour epidural teaching sessions for junior trainees
- Maintenance of an obstetric anaesthesia logbook to document performance of procedures and follow-up of patients.
- Coordination of obstetric anaesthesia teaching for junior trainees and other staff as required
